Thank you for your commitment to Language Bridges-CMUQ!

I want to echo Mashael's words of appreciation for everyone's commitment to Language Bridges-CMU-Q!  Without the investment, commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm of our wonderful teachers, Language Bridges would not be able to exist and sustain itself!

You are all doing a wonderful job!

I'm terribly sorry for those of you who have not been able to teach yet.  I hope you understand that we are doing our best to get you a class, but chances are that this may not happen until spring 2013.  We were counting on UDC bringing in more learners, but for reasons that are beyond our control, we won't be able to get more learners from UDC for this semester.  We are extremely thankful to UDC for their partnership with us and their dedication and commitment to Language Bridges.  We couldn't ask for a better partner!  Our team (Julie, Mashael, Fatima, Sama, and I) are working very hard on getting some other classes started with another local company, and more importantly, with the workers in our building, but again, this may not happen until spring 2013.  But we are really trying because we strongly believe in this program and in the wonderful opportunity it gives to the CMU-Q students and the adult learners.  So if you don't get to teach this semester, PLEASE, PLEASE hold your interest until next semester when you'll teach an amazing group of learners and have an awesome experience.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that is NOT COOL to NOT SHOW UP FOR YOUR TEACHING, especially in the last minute.  You teach in groups of 2-3 teachers for a reason.  If one of you cannot make it, then the other 1-2 should be able to make it.  Our learners are making a huge effort in coming all the way from the Pearl late at night after working 10-12 hours a day, so it is our responsibility to show up for our teaching and provide them with the best experience ever.  Yesterday Sakib saved the day for all of us, and we are indeed very grateful to him!

One more thing, I know that all of you have been doing wonderful things in your classes and have had wonderful experiences, so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share your experiences, photos, and videos on the blog.  The blog is the best documentation of the fantastic work you all do at Language Bridges.  And it is the best marketing strategy for Language Bridges, so please help us keep the blog active!  For the BA students who are looking into getting PSP points for participating in Language Bridges, you have to be active on the blog in order to get full PSP points for Language Bridges.

Again, THANK YOU each of you for your wonderful work with Language Bridges.  And I hope that everyone will have a chance to teach very soon!  In the meantime, keep your interest, come and visit the other classes, help with the other classes, support your fellow teachers, and keep up your interest for next semester.  As a matter of fact, I hope most or all of you come back and teach with us next semester.

A very proud Silvia!
